Sound
We needed to create our own sounds for this project rather then using sources so we had to think of what sounds we needed to include; heavy breathing, needle, dialog and heart beats. All are obvious to create except from the heart beat sound. We experimented with making noises from our mouth, hitting against our chest and stroking/tapping a microphone. In the end we opted for the microphone.

We needed to think of how we would shoot the footage as it needed to be eye height and the persons hands were on the script so they couldn’t hold it themselves. We discussed making a helmet of some sort which would have the camera securely attached to the actors head. The link is the making of one of our major influences, ‘Peep Show’, showing how they film.

We decided to come to Alex (the brief setter and renown movie maker) with our new ideas and here is a section I documented from his advice:
‘Make sure you’ve looked in depth enough, make sure your clear about the idea and try and imagine how this will look to the audience. Forget it’s you think about how it communicates with the audience like this morning. ‘ Alex Reuben
Working from feedback.
Rather then focusing on actually getting the tattoo, a point that was made in our presentation feedback was that our main aim was to focus on anxiety and stress. Having the period of getting the tattoo took this away so it’s a better idea to focus on the emotions felt before.

After a discussion the tattoo idea was considered the strongest and our best option to pursue. It could be funny, we could invent our own sounds, we had contacts with tattooists with a room, the props and a willing candidate so we had all the foundations ready to get shooting.
It was now time to think about how to present our ideas to the class tomorrow.
